Only the Truth is and you are That!
H.W.L Poonja (Papaji)

You are the unchanging awareness in which all activity takes
place. To deny this is to suffer, to know this is Freedom. It is
not difficult to realize this, because it is your True Nature.
Simple inquire 'Who am I?' and watch carefully. Do not make
effort and do not stir a thought. Look within, approach with all
devotions and stay as Heart. Keep vigilant and you will see that
nothing will arise. This is the trick of how to keep the mind quiet
and how to win Freedom. This doesn't take time because
Freedom is always Here. You simply have to watch: Where does
mind arise from? Where does thought come from? What is the
source of this thought? Then you will see that you have always
been Free and that everything has been a dream."

Each man has inside him a basic decency and goodness.
If he listens to it and acts on it , he is giving a great deal
of what it is the world needs most. It is not complicated,
but it takes courage for a man to listen to his own inner
goodness and act on it. Do we dare to be ourselves?
This is the question that counts.

~Pablo Casals

If there is only Consciousness then right now you must be that
and everything else that appears in and as awareness must also
be that, including your sense of separate self if that is how you
appear now. Any personal sense of I or 'doership' or ego must
be Consciousness. What else could it be?

I, ego, time, thought, separation, - if all there is is Consciousness
then is not all of this already Consciousness? Any appearance of
mundane, ordinary existence can be no less of Consciousness than
any appearance of unconditional love, wholeness, bliss, stillness,
silence or anything else, Does anything really need to be transcended,
found or let go of?

Why not live in this understanding, no longer requiring that you wait
for all the supposed signs of 'enlightenment' to appear?

The Inner Light
(George Harrison)

"Without going out of my door
I can know all things on Earth
Without looking out of my window
I could know the ways of Heaven

The farther one travels
The less one knows
The less one really knows

Without going out of your door
You can know all things on Earth
Without looking out of your window
You could know the ways of Heaven

The farther one travels
The less one knows
The less one really knows

Arrive without travelling
See all without looking
Do all without doing"

Those who follow the way of love

"Those who follow the way of love
Are the richest of all men living:
They are bold, frank, and fearless,
They have neither travail nor care,
For the Holy Ghost bears all their burdens.
They seek no outward seeming,
They desire nought that is esteemed of men,
They affect not singular conduct,
They would be like other good men."

~John of Ruysbroeck

From: Tales and Parables of Sri Ramakrishna

If You Are Earnest

A MAN may not know the right path, but if he has bhakti and the
desire to know God - then he attains Him through the force of sheer
bhakti.

Once, a sincere devotee set out on a pilgrimage to the temple of Jagannath
in Puri. He did not know the way; he went west instead of south. He, no
doubt, strayed from the right path, but always eagerly asked people the way,
and they gave him the right direction saying, 'This is not the path; follow that
one. At last the devotee was able worship the Deity.

So you see, even if you are ignorant, someone will tell you the way if you
are earnest.

Think Before You Speak
The thought manifests as the word.
The word manifests as the deed.
The deed develops into the habit.
The habit hardens into the character.
The character gives birth to the destiny.
So, watch your thoughts with care
And let them spring from love
Born out of respect for all beings.

The Buddha, as paraphrased by Mahagosananda.

may my heart always be open to little
ee cummings

may my heart always be open to little
birds who are the secrets of living
whatever they sing is better than to know
and if men should not hear them men are old

may my mind stroll about hungry
and fearless and thirsty and supple
and even if it's sunday may i be wrong
for whenever men are right they are not young

and may myself do nothing usefully
and love yourself so more than truly
there's never been quite such a fool who could fail
pulling all the sky over him with one smile

But the soul must abandon her own being. This is where the
death that is spiritual begins. If the soul is to undergo this death,
then she must take leave of herself and all things, holding herself
and all things to be as insignificant as they were before they
existed ... I do not mean that the being of the soul falls into
nothingness as she was before she was created, rather we should
understand this cessation to be the eradication of possessing and
having. (p. 244)

That person who is thus rooted in God's love must be dead to
themselves and to all created things so that they are no more
concerned with themselves than they are with someone who is
over a thousand miles away. Such a person remains in likeness
and in unity and is always the same... This person must have
abandoned themselves and the whole world ... Whoever entirely
renounces themselves even for a moment would be given all things.
(p. 179)

Meister Eckhart: Selected Writings. Trans. Oliver Davies

You're bound to become a buddha if you practice.
If water drips long enough
Even rocks wear through.
It's not true thick skulls can't be pierced;
People just imagine their minds are hard.

- Shih-wu (1272-1352)
